Quality assessment

To visualize and assess the geocoding quality of your data, open a table from the homepage. By default, data tables open in Hybrid View; the data is displayed in both map view and list view to provide the best navigation experience. You can change the view mode to map only or list only from the menu bar.

Assess geocoding quality

When content manager geocodes your data, latitudes and longitudes coordinated are given to each address. Depending on the address precision, a geocoding quality level is assigned. It is represented by a marker color.

Geocoding levels

  • Level 6 (Green) = Address level. This is the best geocoding accuracy.
  • Level 5 (Yellow) = Street level. Street number is missing or not found.
  • Level 4 (Orange) = Zip Code level. Street name and number are missing or not found.
  • Level 3 (Red) = City level. Zip Code, street name and street number missing or not found.
  • Level 2 (Purple) = State level. City name, Zip Code, street name and number missing or not found.
  • Level 1 (Purple) = Country level. State, city name, Zip Code, street name and number missing or not found.
  • Level 0 (Black) = Unable to geocode data.

At any moment you can get information about records geocoding quality from the list view. Mouse hover a marker and a tooltip informs you about the geocoding level how to improve it.

You can filter your data by geocoding levels using the Geocoding quality panel.




Search & filter data

You search for data or filter to data in which you are particularly interested and filter out the rest. The filtering can be handled from the Filters panel. At any time, if you wan to remove all applied filter click Reset all filters.

Quick search

Find all objects containing a specific word or character. This mode will search through all your data columns. This is the default search mode. To do a quick search, click the magnifying glass and start typing.


Advanced search

  • Column Search helps you find all records in a specific column. This search mode is available from the Advanced Search menu.
  • Proximity Search helps you find records around an address. This search mode is available from the Advanced Search menu.

Filter by geocoding quality

You can filter your data by geocoding levels using the Geocoding quality panel.


Advanced filters

The filter menu lets you create custom filters based on one or multiple criteria. Those filters may be saved for future use and shared with others users who are part of the same GeoAnalytics customer account. To reset an applied filter, simply click "Reset" from the Filter menu.



Edit an address manually

Edit address information

  1. Click the Pencil icon in order to toggle the edit mode.
  2. Edit information from the list.
  3. Click the geocode button if any change has been made to the geographic information.
  4. Click the Save button.

Edit an address location from the map

  1. Select a record from the list.
  2. Click the Pencil icon in order to toggle edit mode.
  3. Drag the marker to the desired location on the map.
  4. Click the Save button.


Edit an address by delegation

PinPointer feature helps you refine the quality of your geocodes by delegating the task of positioning addresses to addresses owners. Using this feature, owners receive an email asking them to verify a geographic position and provide improved geographic information and position for a given address.

Sending a PinPointer request

  1. Select a record from the list.
  2. Click PinPointer.
  3. Enter the email address of the owner.
  4. Enter a subject and message.
  5. Click Send to PinPointer.

Confirming a PinPoint request

Once the owner refined the geographic position for an address, you will receive an email notification as well as a notification visible from the content manager homepage. You must now confirm the PinPoint before being able to save the change into your data table.

  1. From the homepage, click the PinPointer request(s) link.
  2. Compare old and new information before confirmation.
  3. Click the “Confirm” button or “Decline” button if you think the modifications were wrong. Modifications are now saved in your data table.
